Post Houston Fun and Black Friday Sales!!

We are back from Houston and IQA Quilt

Festival! The last of my torch cactus blossoms are brightening my day on the counter and I am back at work making beautiful new things. But before I get too crazy with new creations in the the studio, I want to share everything we brought out at this recent event and a few fabulous offers to help kick off your holiday shopping! This fall, I designed three new patterns based in part on some classes I've been teaching recently.

1. Cactus Specimen is my newest pattern

designed to help you enjoy your machine's decorative stitches. If you bought your machine for all the beautiful stitches it has to offer, you should have excuses like this to use them all. Cactus Specimen is designed to be fused and stitched with a variety of stitches from your machine. It measures 21" x 32" and makes a great wall hanging.

I chose stitches for the cactus that would make it look like it had thorns and used dense satin stitch options for the pot and flowers.

I put kits of this new wall hanging together for Festival and I have a few left over from the show.

2. Love Doves measures 16" x 24". It is such a

cutie! These little love birds are a fun and quick little applique project. They look great in so many color combinations (I've already made them in 5 different ways).

With this project I was really excited about playing with the Kanzashi makers from Clover. I used the Orchid petal makers to add dimensional flowers to the branch our super cute love birds are resting on.

3. And my final little addition this fall is

Taupe Daisy. This pattern is a re-imagining of my original pattern (Daisy Chain). I was recently inspired by the Japanese woven fabrics to make a smaller version (21" x 21"). You can make the centers with Perfect Circles or you might like the new Kurumi Buttons from Pinwheels that make it so easy to make flower centers.

Taupe Daisy is a great opportunity to enjoy your hand work, whether you turn your applique or use a lovely button hole stitch.
