I'm so delighted with this week's project! It was fast and fun, cut and finished in a weekend. In fact, I liked it so much I'm already planning to make it again in cool colors. This time around, we'll be looking at working with small left overs that can be cut to the same width (in this case 2 1/2"). Because we're working with a very diverse pile of warm temperature scraps, I'm going to introduce a solid fabric to unify the scraps and create a visual resting space. Cuttin


The Summer Scrap Elimination 2021: Week 2
Wow, last week was fun! Thank you for all the lovely responses about last week's pattern! I hope you will enjoy this week's project just as much. This week we are working with a bunch of leftovers that can be used to make a 5" finished Half Square Triangle (HST) unit. For me, that means I'll be cutting my squares 5 7/8" x 5 7/8". However, if you are someone that prefers making your HSTs by squaring down from a larger size, feel free to cut your starting squares at 6" x 6"

It's hot my quilty friends! HOT! Here in Tucson that means we quilters are hunkered down in our studios with fans, iced drinks and PROJECTS! To facilitate your quilting fun, I'm happy to welcome you to the 4th Annual Summer Scrap Elimination Project. Let's get scrapping! As we start off, I'm giving myself the illusion of icy cool weather with a blue project out of my overflowing drawer of blues. This is a fun and versatile block, I think you'll enjoy.
